Square Unboxed 2023

Square Unboxed is an annual event focused on developers and partners. This year was a hybrid experience which included content for both in-person and virtual attendees. 

As the designer, my responsibilities included concepting and leading the design on many of our print and digital assets. These assets included two versions of the event landing page, print and digital signage, social assets, email templates, event badges, swag, presentation decks, and a keynote video. I also worked closely with our production designers and engineers to get these assets built.

Our full team included a creative director, an art director, a copywriter, a production designer, engineers, a motion designer, a project manager, and myself as the designer. We also worked crossfunctionally with our marketing partners as well as an experiential agency.

Partner spotlight column wraps in the main event space. Each one had a short description as well as a QR code linking out to their page in Square’s App Marketplace.

Social ads for LinkedIn and Twitter.


Emails were templatized to streamline approval and engineering processes.


Check-in desk on the ground floor, attendees passed through security and picked up their badges.



Attendees were able to put “developer”, “partner”, or “Square” stickers on their badges to help facilitate networking.
