I was hired to design and produce event graphics for the inaugural MDES Showcase, the final achievement for students completing the Master of Interaction Design program at California College of the Arts. The deliverables included an event poster, facebook banner, eNewsletter, and website thumbnail image.
Because this was the first annual showcase, I was in charge of determining the visual language. The only guidelines were bright, colorful, and “relate it back to the program somehow…oh and don’t make it dark like the undergrad stuff”.
According to the Masters Candidates and their professors, interaction designers work on everything from iOS apps to children’s board games. In their eyes, anything that involves a user falls under the umbrella of interaction design.
